Would my Computer work for Spore?!?

i have a mac book pro 15 inch for last Christmas and i want to get spore and idk if i have the requirements? Please help! thanksWould my Computer work for Spore?!?
Spore doesn't really have good graphics, especially on the lowest settings.

My tablet is able to play it on all Medium settings with no lag at all (I never bothered trying high graphics because it works fine and saves battery life), and my tablet has a 1.9GHz AMD Athlon CPU, 3GB of RAM and a Radeon HD 3200, which aren't all that great.

My desktop has an AMD Athlon X2 5000+ 2.6GHz CPU, 4GB of RAM and an 8800GTS 512MB video card, and tears through it with ease.

As I said, the requirements aren't that high because even though it's really pleasing to the eye, the graphics aren't all that great.Would my Computer work for Spore?!?
It should be just fine. Although the display might be a bit small for good gaming, so connect an external monitor if possible.

Also, a separate mouse and keyboard will enhance your experience. No one likes gaming with a crappy touchpad ;)Would my Computer work for Spore?!?
Spore has very low system requirements. You should be able to play it just fine.

Why wont spore for the pc work?

ive installed it and it wont save it to my computer. i have all the requirements met but it still doesnt work. i was wondering if anybody had the solution to the problem... if u could help that would be niceWhy wont spore for the pc work?
If it doesn't work, try updating your videocard drivers. If you want me to tell you how to do this, contact me by email through my profile's page as it's a different procedure depending of the computer you have.

How do I know if my computer has a built-in graphics chipset?

The game spore has two sets of requirements, one for a built-in graphics chipset and one without. How do I know which one i have? How do I know if my computer has a built-in graphics chipset?
The simplest way is to look at the stickers on your laptop or PC.

Failing that, try opening the start window, right click on my computer and go to my properties (keyboard shortcut to here is windows button + pauseBreak key)

click on the hardware tab

then click on device manager.

Go to display adapters.

It should give you a bit of information about it.

If intel is the brand of your graphics card, you are pretty much screwed.

If you enjoy playing games 6 or 7 years old, you MIGHT be able to play SOME of those with an intel GPU. *eyeroll*

I have one on my computer and it can hardly play anything. Age of Empires and Need for Speed Porsche are about it.

Recently I helped a guy choose a new computer for himself and we noticed that virtually all base model intel based laptops - even the ones without the dreadful celeron chipsets - had intel GPUs.

Something to avoid like the plague if you ask me.

We found a computer of roughly equivalent power with an AMD chipset with an added 896MB NVidia graphics card. Seemed decent considering it was only 20 dollars US more. How do I know if my computer has a built-in graphics chipset?
You say: I'm guessing this means I don't have a chipset?

However, you have already found that your chipset IS the NVidia Quadro NVS.

An easy way to find out is to download GPU-z all the infos are there, you didn't tell me which OS you were using.

In start menu go to run, type "dxdiag" (without the quotes), and go to the graphics section, the info should be there.

Why Does spore Run slow on vista... how can i fix it?

i've downloaded spore called up maxis went to the website they recommended completed all the steps they listed, and it freezes or gets all laggy and slow... how can i help to fix this (my requirements to play the game are well above the recommended setting so it ain't that)Why Does spore Run slow on vista... how can i fix it?

Starting up with Spore, do you really need internet connections?

alright to i was looking at the system requirements of the game and it seems like i'm all good with it. but when I look at the box it says, "Internet connection needed to activate product" We don't have internet at the moment. Can I still play without internet? please help.Starting up with Spore, do you really need internet connections?
You can play without internet just don't create an online account. I think you just need it to type in your key code.Starting up with Spore, do you really need internet connections?
As part of the craptacular DRM that EA has placed with Spore, you ARE REQUIRED to have an active internet connection for your initial running of Spore.

Without the internet connection, the game will refuse to run properly until that issue is remedied.

If you don't like it, you're out of luck as alternative methods violates the the user agreement or copyright law.

just so you know that this graphics card is worth about $400-$500. its one of the nividia gtx ranges wich is currently the newest series for nividia. you'll be able to run freakin any game you want with that graphics card. also the 1.8gb is godly.

Yah it should run, the graphics dont need high requirements. I can run it and i cant even run Halo Combat Evolved right... That site from the guy above me is great and virus free by the way.

    Why wont spore work!?

I downloaded spore, and it wont work. I have all the system requirements, and a windows vista service pack 1.

Spore doesnt work, when i download it, and insert it in the cd slot, all it does is ask, "Do you want to run spore?" When i click run spore, it just closes and nothing happens

What should I do?Why wont spore work!?
The demo doesn't work but if you buy the game download it click start then games then click on Spore (P.S. BEST GAME EVER!!!!!!!!!!!)

    - 768 MB RAM

    - A 128 MB Video Card, with support for Pixel Shader 2.0

    go for it man

I can't play Spore I think it's because of my Video Driver?

I checked for everything and I have all the requirements. Although I have a Nvidia Gefore 8700 and it doesn't list that for supported, so is thgat why, and if it is how do i change it thank you. I can't play Spore I think it's because of my Video Driver?
either wait for a patch to coome out, edit your registry ( bad idea unless you understand it) get some more general drivers from nvidia or buy another card that is supported, damn ea.

It cost me $100.00, but that was quite a few months ago its probably cheaper now. Its a really good game i got stuck into it for a while, it requires 6GB of hard drive space, it will run on Windows Vista or Windows XP, for XP you need 512 MB or higher and for Vista, 768 MB or higher and you need internet connection, it will also run on just a MAC OS.

hope this helped, its price is probably down to $70.00 by now.

Spore's been out for years. I'm assuming you mean an expansion pack or new game.

I do know that Darkspore is coming out Q2 2011.

What is a good, cheap(ish) CPU that would run SPORE or even Crysis well?

I'll let you define cheap. I have $80 cash right now but I'm getting more money. I'd rather spend as little as possible, but I know how that ends up working out...

I used systemrequirementlabs.com, and would like to upgrade my computer enough so that it would be able to even run Crysis on the recommended requirements. This is just a goal, so as long as it fairly well passes the minimum requirements, and plays SPORE really well, I'm happy.

I've looked at this one, and it's really cheap. Would it be good, or should I keep looking?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as鈥?/a>What is a good, cheap(ish) CPU that would run SPORE or even Crysis well?
that will be fine. What's more important is the video card. You should ask a new question telling what video slots you have on your motherboard (agp, pci, pci-E) asking what video card you should get. What is a good, cheap(ish) CPU that would run SPORE or even Crysis well?
The processor you have chosen is great , crysis and spore will work effortlessly on this processor and u also might need 2GB RAM to make the game work smootherWhat is a good, cheap(ish) CPU that would run SPORE or even Crysis well?
I'm currently running the model below what you're looking at (Athlon X2 4200+) and with a good video card I have absolutely no problem running Crysis on med-high settings.

Spore on the other hand is nothing compared to Crysis... it doesn't require anywhere near the processing power as Crysis.

To all people who know a lot about Spore, can you please help me?

Ok, I was trying to install it on my computer, (PC) and it said "graphics below minimum spec" or something like that. I understand that I need a graphics card, but I don't know what the minimum requirements for graphics card is. If you know, could you tell me what graphics card will let me play the game, (the cheapest one), also, if possible include a link to the page so I can see it, thanks. To all people who know a lot about Spore, can you please help me?

    Steam won't run Spore?

As the title suggests, I'm trying to run Spore threw the Steam client. I just bought the game yesterday while it was on sale on Steam, but when I click the icon to launch it it won't start or anything. I even tried going to the installation folder and click the launcher, but that didn't work either.

I installed Spore Galactic Edition on my XPS Laptop and it won't start. I have all the requirements to play it. I have windows vista. I installed it and it only gives me the option to view the Read-Me file. I went to the start menu looked under every file. I did a search under the computer menu. Nothing came up. Then I went to the uninstall programs menu and it showed Spore in there. I had only the options to uninstall it or leave it alone. Please help me quick. Why won't Spore work?
if you have installed it more than 3 times you have used up the limited installation... which sux because you just got ripped off.

Many people don't know it yet but games on PC are now getting "limited activation" and some background "security" crap that might disable copying devices.

So yes they messed with your computer.

it should work my computer runs itI have just bought and downloaded spore, but whenever i try to run it it says the graphics card is below spec.?
I am unsure what you are asking. It sounds like you are asking if somebody can provide you some type of download which would increase your system hardware specifications to a level which would enable ease of running Spore. You are aware that these are hardware requirements, not some type of driver that you could add to your system which would boost your systems capabilities? Drivers do not increase what you already have, they only allow for communication between the hardware component and the Operating System. Drivers can also offer features and compatibility with newer hardware if you upgrade a component.

What you need to do is upgrade your graphic card to the specification needed to run Spore. There are often sales which allow purchase of a decent mid-level graphic card. In addition to the store sale there are often also a manufacturer rebate which increased the amount of savings significantly. Watch for sales in your local hardware stores, or research what you need and then shop around at Online stores, like New Egg. I prefer to shop in stores I can actually walk into because of ease of returns and the fact these types of stores do not charge up to a 15% restocking fee. I research products online and then look for sales at local stores.

You could go to your video graphic card manufacturer website and see if a new driver is available for that particular card. As you are running XP Home your card is probably considered obsolete and you would need to search the obsolete product section for appropriate downloads. It makes your task a bit harder but it can help sometimes which would make it worth your time and effort.

I hope you find what you are looking for, good luck and have a nice day.

Edit: Use caution when allowing a website to scan your system. When you allow this type of scan the website performing the scan can actually gather information you would rather it didn't. Be sure to read the privacy policy and terms of service and if you use Internet Explorer make sure to use the Page button to bring up the security information for that site to ensure it is legitimate. My computer meets all the system requirements, except my video card (it's a NVIDIA 5500). The game runs fairly well, but it's choppy and I feel like i'm missing out on the graphics. I'm looking for something under $100... I've installed other components myself, never a video card. Is there something I need to know about installing myself? Wanting to build a computer to run the game 'Spore'?

    Hey all,

Im wanting to build a computer that can play the game Spore, just wondering what parts would be suitable, and what price do think i would be looking at?

I've never built or tried to build a computer before, but i really want to. I have my old computer ( its dead, well REALLY slow) so i have the shell of the tower, the monitor, etc.

Also, here are the requirements for Spore:

Memory 鈥?XP: 512 MB RAM / Vista: 768 MB RAM

Hard Drive 鈥?At least 300 MB of hard drive space for installation, plus additional space for created creatures. (600 MB for digital download)

Video Card 鈥?A 128 MB Video Card, with support for Pixel Shader 2.0*

For computers using built-in graphics chipsets, the game requires at least:

    * Intel Integrated Chipset GMA 950 * Dual 2.0GHz CPUs, or 1.7GHz Core 2 Duo, or equivalent

    Supported Video Cards

    ATI Radeon(TM) series 9500, 9600, 9800 X300, X600, X700, X800, X850 X1300, X1600, X1800, X1900, X1950 2400, 2600, 2900, 3650, 3850

( Look at added detail below)Wanting to build a computer to run the game 'Spore'?
Pcs these days are quite simple to build

Firstly you will need a new Power Supply as the one in the tower will not be suitable

If you want to go down the Intel route

Decide which 775 board you want (making sure it will fit in the case to be sure get a Uatx board) don't go for the cheapest but you do not need to go mad the motherboard manual tells you how to attach all the parts to it

Then you need a CPU I would go for a duel core CPU my self

Memory go for 677 ddr2 as thats the optimum price to speed

    Sata2 Hard drive

DVD writer (they are really cheap now)

I would go for a cheap PCI-e graphics card as well as it does not add much to the budget

Memory size go for 1GB Xp or 2 GB Visa

If the hard drive is clean and never been used the os cd will boot automaticly to install XP/Vista

without the OS in the UK abou t拢180- 拢200 or $300 Us
If the computer is from scratch, and you want a decent machine id check out:

    ASUS motherboards

AMD processors (my personal preference, intel fine but usually pay a little more for them for some reason)

RAM well thats an open field, but i dont go for "Budget" makes they tend to fail.

    Seagate/Maxdata/fujitsu fine for Hard drives,

    Geforce/Radeon graphics cards

check out www.microdirect.com its UK sales thoughWanting to build a computer to run the game 'Spore'?
If all you want it for is to play spore, you will find it a lot lot cheaper to just buy a ready made one. the only savings come from big gameing rigs.

    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduc鈥?/a>

    Edit_

that site has some excellent prices. www.overclockers.co.uk and www.ebuyer.co.uk are the cheapest around, you wont find cheaper.

just make sure when choosing a CPU you get a board with the same socket type. (eg core 2 is lga775 look for a socket 775 board, then the same type of ram, most boards are SATA so buy same type of hard drive.

if you have problems or just want to find out if your parts will work together, join this forum and ask there, but dont post links as they will ban you. just post the part names. or if you can find the manufacturers description they allow that.

(i'm on the forum aswell, so might end up helping you there aswell. lol)

    Edit_2

www.overclockers.co.uk do good fool proofe bundles for the begginner.
if your building a computer you should get a bare bones bunddle because that would be the cheapest way. go to novatech they have alot of cheap parts heres the link http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/Wanting to build a computer to run the game 'Spore'?
Thats a taught thing to answer! Thats like me asking I want to buy a car, and You list out the kind of tires I should get!

The biggest part of building a computer is to figure out this whole parts things. If I tell you which parts then I'm building the computer.

For me, the basics kind of flow this way.

Figure out your processor first. Mostly are you going to go Intel or AMD. Intel is a little better, but a little higher priced. AMD isn't to bad, but cheaper.

Next is your Motherboard. you buy a Motherboard for the type of processor you are going to get (AMD or INTEL).

Mostly the motherboard is Buss speed or how much RAM it well hold, how many Slots you well need (PCI Express 16 4x 1x) This is the thing that kind of takes the most time to figure out. Some Motherboards have more slots for Hard Drives (SATA) but not as many slots for Graphics (or other expantion slots). So you have to figure out which one you want more.

Next is Buying RAM. Just by the best RAM for the price for the speed of your motherboard. (If you go with Vista you should get 2gb of RAM) for XP 1gb is good enough but ram is so cheap getting 2gb is good (4gb is only for 64bit os)

After that, its just a matter of how much you want to spend,

Graphic Card (ATI or Nvidia), Hard drive size (if you download music and videos or edit home movies you want more space)

    DVD burner

Keyboard mouse and all of that extras.

There are plenty of tutorials online of how to build a computer.

For what you want any computer in the last year well probably work, even $500 from dell. The point of building the computer it put everything you want in it!

    Any questions ask.

One last thing, I go to newegg.com you can buy your computer parts here (there are other places also) but I mostly read reviews, from customers. http://www.tomshardware.com/ is another place to go to read up on new things, go to there Charts to figure out which process or graphic card is faster compare them.
What ever you do have at least 1GB and memory and DON'T USE VISTA IT IS A RIP IT IS COMFUSING I REPEAT DO NOT INSTALL VISTA. use windows XP or 2000. they are the most stable, and you can make xp look like vista. for spore and other the sims games, i like using Nvida GeForce, ATI Radeon has lots of problems. Use a 250 GB 9200 RPM HDD, they are fast and can install games faster the higher the RPM #. when you pick a case, thermal take is good at making your gaming pc fast. most of this stuff is at www.zipzoomfly.com (i don't know how to make links)

Will this computer (LapTop) run spore? How much will it cost to upgrade?

Okay theres this laptop that is 5 and a half years old, has a 12GB harddrive (I can delete alot off of that and make it more if the guy was right when he said 12GB) Pendium 3 proccessor with 512MB of RAM (I can buy memory) with a CD and floppy drive. I see it doen't QUITE reach the requirements for Spore. But what do I need to upgrade? How? And how much will it cost to upgrade? Will this computer (LapTop) run spore? How much will it cost to upgrade?
Like Aaron said, you're out of luck there. The unfortunate things about laptops is that other than the memory and hard drive, nothing else can be upgraded (unless you're one creative SOB). You're only solution is to buy another PC.

If you want something for gaming, I'd definitely say that you should go with a desktop. Laptops can game, don't get me wrong, however the upgradability, power, and bang-for-your-buck of a desktop outweighs the portability of any notebook (personal opinion).

For a good desktop, search around sites like Tigerdirect and Newegg and see what deals they have. They often have sales on different desktops. They also have barebone kits for a pretty decent price, only thing is you'll have to build them yourself and buy a few more components (operating system, video card, cd/dvd/bluray drives, monitor, keyboard, mouse, upgraded cooling, etc.).

Look around for a quad core processor (dual works fine if you're on a budget), 3+ gigs of RAM (REMEMBER, you MUST have a 64bit operating system in order to utilize more than 4 gigs of RAM), and one or two hard drives. For video cards, I love my 9800 GT (because I got it free from a friend, woohoo!) but for higher-end games you will need to shell out big money on your card.

If you need that portability then just go with a slightly more expensive model laptop, that way you'll get both. I'd recommend an HP or an Acer, but look for one that states the graphics card (Radeon HD 4650, etc.). You'll need anywhere from 2-4 GB of RAM (the more the better), and a 250GB hard drive should be fine (if you really need 500+ gigs on a laptop, just friggen buy a 2.5" portable drive. That much in an everyday laptop is overkill.).

All-in-all, expect to pay about $400+ for any (decent) new computer. The better specifications you choose, the higher the price. The best advice I can give you is to compare every system that looks interesting with other websites. You see one you like on Newegg, then you look for one similar on Tigerdirect, as well as Bestbuy, Costco/BJ's/Sam's Club, etc.

Hope any of this helps! Will this computer (LapTop) run spore? How much will it cost to upgrade?
There is no way, Spore requires a p4 processor or higher, There is no way you can upgrade the laptop.

If you can play the PC game Spore, can you play the Sims 3?

My laptop far exceeds the minium requirements for spore and the sims 2. I can play the sims 2 very well on my laptop, and though i only tried Creature Creator for Spore, it runs great and smooth. I know the only real difference between Spore and Sims 3 is amount of RAM, so...

P.S I know I already posted this question but I did it in the wrong section :)If you can play the PC game Spore, can you play the Sims 3?
Sims 3 requires at least 1.5gb of RAM for laptops. So check that.

It'll requires the same graphics cards as SPORE, so you should be all set! That doesn't mean it'll play nicely if you only have the bare minimum.

I am also looking forward to Sims 3, which is going to be selled for 49,99$ on the 3rd of june. I hope they will release a demo so we can try it on our computers.

I must say that the Creature Creator is FAR LESS DEMANDANT than the actual game. But if it works, you should be able to play SPORE. SPORE really is a great game. you can get it for 41,99$ at WalMart. It's there that it'll be the cheapest. I personnaly have the galactic edition and I enjoy it.If you can play the PC game Spore, can you play the Sims 3?
Ok. the X3100 will probably be the bare minimum for Sims 3. You'll be able to play it. You have a graphic card that is about as powerful as mine.

You should be able to, when the game comes out there should be a system requirements for it on the site, but I am pretty confident that you can.

I think that board is AGP but it is so old I am not certain about it. You are running on onboard integrated graphics. Judging from your Bus clock of 133 your CPU is going to be way too slow for many games and or Graphics cards out today... You really need to work on getting a whole budget system. I am not trying to be mean, but just trying to point you in the right direction... I cannot make a definate find on the net about if you have an AGP slot or not. If you have no AGP slot you are left with getting a PCI slot graphics card, but there is no garantee that it will work with your system.

If you have problems running WoW then Spore will not run very well at all.

WoW requires an 800mHz processor, Spore requires 2.0gig

WoW only needs a 32mb graphics card, Spore is going to need a 128mb one.Could my computer handle Spore if it can handle WoW?
Ya it might be close, but Spore might not work as it requires much more resources than WoW.Could my computer handle Spore if it can handle WoW?
Yes, it should. The game is made for the mainstream market, the same market World of Warcraft targets. So if you can run WoW, you should be able to run Spore without any difficulty. Don't forget, these are the guys that made The Sims, they want to hit a large audience and won't limit themselves by making the requirements very steep.

    Will my laptop run spore?

ok, i recently found out that the system requirements for spore full game are for vista:

    * 2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent

    * 768 MB RAM

    * A 128 MB Video Card, with support for Pixel Shader 2.0

    * At least 6 GB of hard drive space

For computers using built-in graphics chipsets, the game requires at least:

    * Intel Integrated Chipset, 945GM or above.

    * 2.6 GHz Pentium D CPU, or 1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo, or equivalent.

    * 768 MB RAM

I don't have any external graphics chipset so i think mine is built in. i have 1.86 GHZ and 1 gb RAM. is it worth buying the game? i tried the spore creature creator trial and that works fine! should i buy the game or will it be slow on my laptop? Will my laptop run spore?

I installed it on my desktop.

Generally, unless you have a alienware-like specs, not gonna happen.

Will Sims 3 and Spore work on my laptop?

    The laptop has

    AMD Athlon X2 Dual-Core Processer

    3GB SDRAM, 320GB HDD

ATI Radeon 3100 Graphics with 256-1404MB Dynamically Allocated shared Graphics Card

The Requirements for Sims 3 are

    Windows Vista (Service Pack 1)

2.4 GHz P4 processor or equivalent

    1.5 GB RAM

At least 6.5 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content

128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.

Im not sure what the requirements for Spore are thoughWill Sims 3 and Spore work on my laptop?
all you need is herejust install the software choose the game from a huge list of games it will tell you if it meets requirements

http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/ref…Will Sims 3 and Spore work on my laptop?
No. Sims 3 requires AT LEAST a GeForce 8600 GTS to run fluidly and that processor does not cut it either. Same with Spore, except slightly lesser (8600 GT, from experience).

Just get a desktop, preferably one with a half-decent graphics card and a good CPU. I've never heard of someone preferring laptop gaming over true desktops.

My JC friend took a job at the Botanical Gardens right out of Uni. I do not know what she studied in Uni but I am quite sure it did not have anything to do with Horticulture. She just loved Horticulture. As far as I know, she is still there.

    Need spore registration code?

I bought the spore game around a year ago near when it came out and I didnt look at the system requirements, and my computer didnt meet them, but i didnt realize that until i installed the game, and i got a new computer (not for that reason) and now when I try to install the game onto the new computer it says the code is invalid because it thinks i already used it on my old computer, so can somebody please give a me a registration code? I would really appriciate it!

    Thanks!Need spore registration code?
you should be able to play with more then one computer, make sure you got the right code and try again. uninstall the game from the old computer if you think that is the problem.

and screw the guy above meNeed spore registration code?
Contact EA. You've run into a DMR issue. It is a program that limits the number of times that you can install Spore, you have hit your allowed limit. (The program installs without notice and checks the limits every time you start installing Spore.)

EA now, after a lot of SCREAMING customer complaints, offers a utility that can remove a computer's installation of Spore from that computer. Use that utility on your old computer and you will free up the installations to install on the new one.

If you don't have the old computer anymore, contact EA customer support and ask for them to wipe the code from ALL installed computers. You will need to provide the code you have so they will do this.

I'm afraid no one is going to give you their registration code, or the exact thing that happened to you is going to happen to them too.Need spore registration code?
Look..Dude... I dont play Spore but I'd like to advice you one thing nobody will give you there registration code and they give a damn 'bout your appreciation so try and contact the EA helpline....
Try and buy a download off EA.com they might be able to give a discount off the store price.

Is a 1.79Ghz processor with 1gig of RAM enough to run EA's Spore smoothly?

I know the system requirements call for at least a 2.0Ghz processor with 512 of RAM to run spore but does anyone have any experience with running this game (or other games) on a system less than par? I thought maybe the additional 512 of RAM would be enough to successfully run the game. I downloaded the creature creator and it ran fine but the full game is probably a little more demanding of the system Is a 1.79Ghz processor with 1gig of RAM enough to run EA's Spore smoothly?
its not the processor or the memory, but not only do you have to meet the minimum requirements, you also have to have a good graphics cards, or itll be all choppy when you play. if you dont have the minimum, the installer will say you dont meet the requirements and quit.
The minimum spec sez 2gig P4 and 512 Ram

So if i had to guess id say yeahIs a 1.79Ghz processor with 1gig of RAM enough to run EA's Spore smoothly?
It might and it might not. Since you only have 1.79gb processor, sometimes it does not even open.

Getting a better video card will help drastically. I dont know the specs for cpu or ram, but a better video card always helps the most.(unless youre running a p2 or p3 lol!!)Is a 1.79Ghz processor with 1gig of RAM enough to run EA's Spore smoothly?
You should SERIOUSLY go to www.systemrequirementslab.com, BEFORE you spend 50 bucks on "Spore", just to find out your PC won't run it at all, and then you'll be a pissed off consumer, who failed to do their homework BEFORE they bought the game and took it home.

It will scan your PC and give you a "Pass" or "Fail" grade on hardware, and show you where your PC sits on a minimum and recommended scale.

I'm guessing you will be below the minimum and FAIL with your current PC.

I might pick it up tonight, but my upgraded PC sooooo smokes the specs... $50 for a modern day "Monster Rancher"...Hmmmm? :D

Can I upgrade my computer to meet system requirements?

I just got Spore and was disappointed to discover that I can't play it ~ on my PC or Mac. I was wondering if I could upgrade either of them or if I need to buy a new PC (I think mine is 6 or 7 years old). I listed the where my computers do not meet the requirements:

    ----Spore Mac Requirements:

    鈥?Mac OS 10.5.3 (Leopard)

鈥?ATI X1600 or NVidia 7300 GT, or Intel Integrated GMA X3100 video card

    ----My MacBook:

    ----My PC:

    鈥?Windows XP (service pack 2)

    鈥?AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3300+ (1.81 GHz)

Could you please let me know if I can upgrade either of my computers and how I would do that? Thanks in advanceCan I upgrade my computer to meet system requirements?
You could upgrade but I think its better just to buy a new computer. If your planing to upgrade your PC you will end up upgrading most of the components in the computer so just recommend you a new computer. Can I upgrade my computer to meet system requirements?
Well the answer is easy you really have to get a new one. if your computer is that old the motherboard probably isn't compatibly with the new processors or the graphic card you could easily buy a computer that has that requirements for lets say 500鈧?in europe if you from the USA probably less. Can I upgrade my computer to meet system requirements?
You can't upgrade the graphics on your MacBook, so you're out of luck there.

I want to know if Spore will run on my computer or not. The only thing I'm not sure about is the processor. Also, does anyone know what you need to make sure the game is running WELL? I can only find minimum requirements. (The Sims2 is slower than heck on my computer and I would like Spore to run at a fairly normal speed due to the nature of the game.)

Okay, about the processor now. I have a Celeron CPU 2.93 GHz and the Spore requirement is a 2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent. Is mine equivalent or better? Will Spore run on my computer?
Check the minimum requirements for the game. Processor speed may be important, but so is how much RAM you have, as well as how good your video card is. The minimum requirements should state all of that.

If you have less than a Gig of RAM and have an on-board video card, you don't have a hope in hell of running it.Will Spore run on my computer?
no, celeron proccessors are very low end processors. You would be able to run it but i can tell you right now, its not going to run smooth.

Ok, if you only have 64mb, them ou probaly have an intergrated graphics card.(meaning its built in ti your mother board)

(and for the mb, the intergrated graphics card uses memory from your ram)

I'm not familiar with AMD processors, but you should be okay. As a general rule of thumb, the processor influences draw distance (how far you can see) in games. AMD PROCESSORS Usually will run games that require a higher processor speed than what the actual processor runs at:

As long as the computer specs are close it should run fine. But if specs are under the required try turning down the graphics to speed up the game play.

How can I get spore to work?

I just bought spore for my windows XP and I meet the requirements. I installed it and it installed fine, but when i tried to play it a window popped up saying, " spore has ecnountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I dont know what to do, can someone help me please? How can I get spore to work?
you probably are lacking space on your computer...or something has gone wrong with one of the files. you might have corrupted one accidentely. try reinstalling. if not, go to tech support. specifically tech support run by the company that created the game
I would love to know. I installed Spore on my computer a few weekends ago, and it worked fine. I had to install a new hard drive on my computer just recently, and now i get that error message when I try to load spore (although the actual re-installation process was just fine).

I'm pretty bummed. That copy of spore was a gift to me from my dad, and I can't gets it to work :( I'm going to try uninstalling and reinstalling, hopefully that will work. My video cards should be up to date, but I'll check on that if plan A fails. Otherwise... Guess I'll try to contact EA or Microsoft about it :S Good luck... How can I get spore to work?
I had a very similar problem; took me a week to sort it out. For me the problem was that I used the Creature Creator before getting the full game, and the uninstall function did not properly uninstall it. The solution was to manually uninstall the Creature Creator and then reinstall Spore.
Spore is pretty F***d up....I could never connect to the internet servers and have tried everything

Great game ( although a bit overated).....If you're having problems phone EA although the support is crap

If my computer wont play Spore, can it play the Sims?

My computer wasn't able to play Spore. I dunno why. I'm not sure how to check to see if my computer fits the minimum requirements, so not being able to play Spore if just kinda somethin' to go off of. Oh, it can run World of Warcraft. Would I be able to play Sims 3 or Sims 2 with a couple of expansion packs? If my computer wont play Spore, can it play the Sims?
System Requirements Lab will assess your system specs against the minimum requirements for a number of games, including Spore, The Sims 2 (with various add-ons) and Sims 3.

Sims 3 minimum requirements are similar to those of Spore, except the Spore needs only 512Mb RAM (768Mb with integrated graphics), whereas Sims 3 requires 1Gb RAM (1.5Gb with integrated graphics).

Sims 2 minimum requirements are less than World of Warcraft's, the latter needs a graphics card that supports directx 9.0c but the basic Sims 2 graphics minimum is a directx 8.1 card... Both games require only an 800MHz processor.

At least some of the Sims 2 expansion packs require a 9.0c graphics card, plus a 1GHz processor.

Try the link below to check out which games are viable on your PC, any see which component(s) need to be upgraded. If my computer wont play Spore, can it play the Sims?
If it can't play Spore, it can't play Sims 3.

It is possible that it can run Sims 2 if you have a 32MB or more Graphics Card.

Initial gut reaction? yeah as long as you get an 8XXX series video card. but then again game companies have been known to understate the minimums to get people to buy the game. The less options you skimp on the better your chances are.

The smart money is any computer made within the last two years is capable of running it. They can't afford to exclude TOO many people and they have been working on this game for a good while.

I can run the Spore creature creator on my computer, can I run the whole game?

All of my system requirements fit the minimum specs except the processor, which is an Intel Celeron M processor with 1.4 ghz. The game needs (supposedly) 2 ghz but I can run the creature creator I downloaded from spore.com. Can I count on running the whole game?I can run the Spore creature creator on my computer, can I run the whole game?
No, It should run fine as long as you set it to low. I find low not a bad handy cap actually in newer games, but just be careful on what you choose.

But your laptop, if it has an integrated graphics card then no. My laptop was $1100 and it cannot run HT%26amp;L properly thus not being able to run parts of the game.I can run the Spore creature creator on my computer, can I run the whole game?

What settings should I use for "Spore" on a slow computer?

I am playing Spore on a computer that is decent, but just barely meets the games requirements. Because of this, I kept the default "low" setting for shadow, depth of field, texture detail, etc. I wanted to know if there were any of those categories specifically that I could set to medium, or even high, that would make the overall graphics appear better than the others would. Any combination of highs, mediums and lows that would get me the best graphics for the lowest amount of lagging possible would be very appretiated. What settings should I use for "Spore" on a slow computer?
I have the same problem with Spore. Shut down as many background processes as you can,and keep your settings low . I also close out the game when it starts to run really slow and then restart it . The cache files will clear, and it will run better on restart .Go,Fight,Win!!What settings should I use for "Spore" on a slow computer?
ur momWhat settings should I use for "Spore" on a slow computer?
Set everything to the lowest.. it's not like it's that hard to figure out. If you want graphics in games, buy/build a better rig. Rigs that have minimum requirements for games simply means that.. You have to have atleast that for the game to run.. which means you're one step above not even being able to run it, therefore.. you have to sacrafice graphics.

Just Bought Spore Today, why is it not working?

I bought Spore today, all the requirements are met on my Vista computer, except for .02 GhZ of CPU.

I installed, and had to install some Adobe thing, so I did that. After that I assumed I was all good, wrong. The game never opened. So I restarted the computer, uninstalled and reinstalled the game. Same problem.

Why is the game not opening? Also, i have a built in nvidia GeForce go 7400 video card, could that be a problem?Just Bought Spore Today, why is it not working?

When I play SPORE, the game always freezes when trying to create a game in any of the stages. Usually right when I click on the mode I want to play. My video card, memory, MB RAM all match up to the system requirements. Is there anyway I can stop this from happening? Any tips?

shut down anything not required to run the game. if it continues to lock up, odds are you're not going to get it running.

  • Is Spore a good game to play without the internet?

i am a true sims geek and I would like to try out Spore. However, I saw that the requirements mention an internet connection???? I do not have internet access and I would like to try the game but will the internet make it less phone on not playable??? I would also like someone's opinion on the game. Didi you like/dislike it? Thanks. Is Spore a good game to play without the internet?
No, the internet is not required to play spore. The reason why it says that, is because I'm pretty sure there's an option to play against other people (I have never used this feature). But I think that's all that you need the internet for. The game works fine without it, and is still really fun. At least in my opinion. I do really like the game, and it's for the most part, fairly unique. The only thing that I don't like about the game is the "civilization era." And that's because it's very similar to games like Age of Empires, or Civilization. But it also has a really awesome "galactic era", and cell stages, and it's just really cool to go through evolution like that I guess. It's an awesome game, and in my opinion it's worth getting. Is Spore a good game to play without the internet?

Spore will not run on my laptop, but I think I meet the system requirements.. Help?

I just bought Spore yesterday and everything installed fine.. But when I click to run the game, it ALMOST opens it up (like the screen turns black as if its about to run) but then Vista pops up with a friendly message saying, "The program has encountered a problem and needs to close. We will notify you if a solution becomes available." I'm pretty sure my laptop meets the requirements.. It can play KOTOR, Half Life 2 (low settings) and Doom 3... I have 4 gigs of RAM, ATI Radeon X1200 Graphics card, 160 gig hard drive, and a dual processor.. Pentium 4, I think. Can someone please help me?Spore will not run on my laptop, but I think I meet the system requirements.. Help?
Your card is not on the list, as stated above, and if you read the box (under pc spec) It says the laptop versions of these chipsets may work but are not supported. Meaning there is no guarantee the game will work at all on your laptop. Sorry... Maybe try uploading your graphics card driver. Go on the ATI Radeon website and it should be there if there is an update. That may help.Spore will not run on my laptop, but I think I meet the system requirements.. Help?
update all your drivers and directx. make sure all unneccessary programs are turned off.Spore will not run on my laptop, but I think I meet the system requirements.. Help?
Your card isnt on the list for supported cards : Should have read on the game before you bought it. Here read this::

Laptop versions of these chipsets may work, but may run comparatively slowly. Standalone cards that are installed in vanilla PCI slots (not PCIe or PCIx or AGP), such as some GeForce FX variants, will perform poorly. Intel integrated chipsets featuring underclocked parts, such as the 945GU, GML, and GMS, will not perform adequately.

Integrated chipsets such as the ATI Xpress and the NVIDIA TurboCache variants will have low settings selected, but should run satisfactorily.

Please note that attempting to play the game using video hardware that isn聮t listed above may result in reduced performance, graphical issues or cause the game to not run at all.

    Your out of luck.
